Early learning goals
During a session at Glitterbug we work towards the six early learning goals. These goals are what child practioners, through play, aim to promote during the foundation stage which is the period of education between three and five years.
1. Personal, social and emotional development, where goals are related to confidence building and independence, learning to concentrate and to enjoy sharing and taking turns as part of a group. 2. Communication, language and literacy, covers developing talking, listening, reading and writing skills and communication with others. 3. Mathematical development, includes learning about number, quantity, shapes, space and measuring. 4. Physical development, relates to improving control and co-ordination of the body such as hand and eye co-ordination and handling equipment with increasing control. 5. Knowledge and understanding of the world, is all about investigating and understanding the world around us. 6. Creative development, relates to finding ways to express yourself using colour, texture, shape, sound, movement and stories. Back home |
